Two Derrick Building Solutions recent projects, Miller Brothers Auto Repair of Somerset and Harris Rebar of Roberts, are recognized as two of Wisconsin’s most impressive and unique construction projects for 2021.
Derrick Building Solutions earned a Silver Projects of Distinction Construction Excellence Award by Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin for each of the two projects.
The Miller Brothers Auto Repair Project is a 4,100 sq. ft. wood-framed shop addition with 1,024 sq. ft. mezzanine office and break room. Derrick Building Solutions was contracted for the design/build project which doubled the business capacity to accommodate growth. The project was completed on a prompt deadline of four months and was completed three weeks ahead of schedule.
The Harris Rebar project is a completely new 50,300 sq. ft. pre-engineered steel manufacturing facility located in a new rail site development in Roberts, Wisconsin. The project required extensive storm water retention work as well as public utility and road extensions. Both the office and heavy duty fabrication areas were completed ahead of schedule.
The projects were judged in a rigorous process by a panel of construction experts based on a number of criteria, including safety, quality, owner satisfaction, execution and coordination, budgeting, difficult and unusual challenges and overall distinctiveness.
“ABC members do amazing work for clients in areas like manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare and education,” said John Mielke, ABC of Wisconsin president. “We appreciate when our members are willing to have independent, third-party judges evaluate their work, so we have the opportunity to recognize their professional construction services that stand among the best anywhere.”
The Projects of Distinction Awards recognizes projects that are built on merit. The awards presentation took place on January 27, 2022 in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
