BRIEF COMPANY HISTORY

Derrick Building Solutions LLC began in 1967 when Bill Derrick Sr. created the proposal for his very first remodeling project. The first company office alternated between the basement and kitchen of the home which was located on the family farm. From there, Bill and his wife Mary Ann built a company that would grow to build new homes, create real estate developments, and add a commercial contracting division.

Casey Ryan

“My name is Casey Ryan and I am a project manager for Derrick Building Solutions. I was born in Stillwater, Minnesota, but was raised in Green Lake, Wisconsin and attended Markesan Highschool. In my free time I love to be outdoors either bowhunting, hiking, or attending sporting events. I also like to do woodworking and landscaping around the house. Over the summer, I still play baseball in the local amateur league for the Spring Valley Hawks.

After graduating from Markesan (2015), I continued my education at University of Wisconsin – Stout in Menomonie, WI where I earned a Bachelor Degree in construction management as well as pitching for the Blue Devils baseball team. After graduating from Stout in 2019, I was able to intern with Derrick Building Solutions over the summer that rolled into the full-time position I am in now. The transition couldn’t have been smoother and I have learned a ton in my first two years and I couldn’t be happier to be back in the area I am originally from!

I chose the construction industry because of the diversity it offers for job opportunities. I had a lot of exposure in high school shop classes and took a lot of AutoCAD and drafting classes. My plan was to be an architect, but as I grew older, I wanted to get into the workforce as quick as possible. I did finish carpentry, siding, landscaping, post frame, and concrete over my summers in college which made me well rounded and appreciate the many aspects of construction. I am fortunate that I am able to utilize my creative skills for generating concept site layouts, floor plans, and 3D renderings for clients at Derrick Building Solutions.”
